The 2N6547 is a silicon Multi epitaxial Mesa NPN transistor mounted in a TO-3 metal case. It is particularly intended for switching and industrial applications from single and three-phase mains. The 2N6547 transistor is designed for high–voltage, high–speed, power switching in inductive circuits where fall time is critical. They are particularly suited for 115 and 220-volt line-operated switch–mode applications.

What is Power Transistor?

Transistors are three-terminal semiconductor electronic devices that can be used as switches or amplifiers. They can be of NPN or PNP polarity, and many different types are available with different power and switching speed ratings. If a transistor designed to these concepts can handle more than 1 A of collector current, it is generally considered to be a power transistor.
