The 74LS75 feature complementary Q and Q’ outputs from a 4-bit latch, and are available in various 16-pin packages. These circuits are completely compatible with all popular TTL families. The 74LS75 IC has a wide range of working voltage, a wide range of working conditions, and directly interfaces with CMOS, NMOS, and TTL. The output of the IC always comes in TTL which makes it easy to work with other TTL devices and microcontrollers.

What is a D-Type Latch?

A latch is a device that can be used to store one bit of information. The D latch is used to capture, or ‘latch’ the logic level which is present on the Data line when the clock input is high. If the data on the D line changes state while the clock pulse is high, then the output, Q, follows the input, D. When the CLK input falls to logic 0, the last state of the D input is trapped and held in the latch.
