CD4056 BCD to 7-Segment Decoder/Driver – Datasheet

CD4056 is a part of the CD4000 IC series. CD4056 is a BCD – seven segment decoder/driver IC designed by using the complimentary MOS (CMOS) technology, integrated with p-type and n-type enhancement mode transistors. The IC is always available in 16-pin hermetically sealed dual in line package (DIP). The IC offers a wide variety of working conditions and is directly interfaceable with NMOS, PMOS, and TTL devices allowing it to be used in several TTL applications.

BCD to 7-Segment Decoder/Driver?

A BCD to Seven Segment decoder is a combinational logic circuit that accepts a decimal digit in BCD (input) and generates appropriate outputs for the segments to display the input decimal digit.

CD4056 Key Features

  • Low or High output level dc drive for other types of displays
  • Equivalent ac output drive for liquid-crystal displays-no external capacitor is required
  • Full decoding of all input combinations 0-9 L, H, P, A and blank positions
  • Strobed -latch function
  • 5V-10V and 15V parametric ratings
