Working Explanation

The basic working principle of a fan control temperature depends on the working principle of a thermistor. A thermistor is a device that changes its resistance as the temperature changes. The NTC-type thermistor is used in the circuit whose resistance decreases with an increase in temperature. The circuit uses a voltage comparator which compares the voltage between two inputs that are inverting and non-inverting terminals.

The output of a voltage comparator is responsible for the speed of a fan. Whenever the temperature of a surrounding increases it results in an increase in a temperature of a thermistor. This causes the resistance of a thermistor to decrease. As a result, the output voltage increases which increases the speed of a fan.
