Force Sensing Resistor Sensor – FSR400

Force Sensor FSR400 belongs to the class of sensors known as contact sensors, it measures the contact and the force applied on the sensor i.e. FSR400 is a force measuring sensor. Force Sensing Resistor (FSR) is the sensor, whose resistivity decrease with an increase in the force applied on the surface of the sensor.

This means that FSR400 is a variable resistor whose resistance changes with a change in pressure on the sensor surface. We convert this resistance into a voltage parameter and using ADC conversions we calculate the respective force that a sensor exhibits. This force sensor can be used in HMI devices and consumer electronics with ease. The Standard FSR400 sensor is round in shape and has a diameter of 7.62mm.
