Introduction

As you know that amplifiers are generally used to transform the low voltage signals into a higher voltage signal with some gain. Audio amplifiers use the audio weak audio as the input signal and convert it into higher voltage audio power. But, some amplifiers provide a low voltage output that has lower gain. So, in this tutorial, we are going to Make a “Low Voltage Audio Power Amplifier Circuit”. For this purpose, we are using LM386 IC. The IC provides voltage ranges from 4V to 12V and has a low quiescent current drain of 4mA. The IC requires fewer external parts which makes it easier to use. Moreover, this IC is affordable and can be found at reasonable prices.

Working Explanation

To make the Low Voltage Audio Power Amplifier Circuit, connect the components according to the diagram given above. now, the major component which is LM386 IC has 8 pins. Pin 2 and 3 are the input pins, therefore audio is provided to those pins. The potentiometer at pin 2 controls the output volume of the audio. Further, the supply is provided at pin 6, and pin 4 is grounded. Pin 1 and 8 are the gain pins that are wired together with the help of resistor R2 and capacitor C4. Finally, pin 5 is the output pin that drives the load.

Application and Uses

  • In television sound systems.
  • In FM radio amplifiers.
  • For the laptop speakers.
  • In battery-operated speakers.
  • For audio boosting.
