Introduction

The electronics are nothing without the amplifier circuits. Since amplifiers are one of the basic and important circuits, therefore, we try our best to come up with different types of amplifiers. Sometimes with easy circuits and sometimes with little complicated circuits. So, if you are a beginner and searching for the easiest amplification circuits for your learning and understanding then must stay there. Because in this tutorial we are making a ” Simple Single Transistor Audio Amplifier Circuit “. Audio amplifiers boost up the audio. But, the input audio is of two kinds: direct audio, and audio coming from the condenser mic. Hence, in this article, we are making two circuits for two different input audios.

Working Explanation

For Direct Input Audio signal

For the direct input audio signal, the circuit is very easy to make. It uses the Simple Single Transistor (BC547). resistor R1 is the base resistor and provides the current at the base to drive the transistor at its saturation point. Capacitor C1 isolates the transistor’s base from the input source so that the base current or the voltage should not affect the input audio. The transistor is in the forwarding stage when the input is provided at the base of its base. During the whole audio cycle that is provided to the transistor, it generates the maximum amplitude at the output side.

For Condenser Microphone Input signal

This Simple Single Transistor Audio Amplifier circuit is a simplistic preamplifier circuit. But before understanding its works, you must know what are the preamplifier circuits. usually, any type of audio amplifier uses two basic amplification circuits, the pre-amplifier, and the main amplifier. The function of the preamplifier is that it takes the weak input signal and boosts the signal that can be handled by the main amplifier circuit. Hence, they are utilized in the microphone circuits.

Now coming towards the circuit, in this circuit condenser mic provides the audio signals having noise and distortions. To remove these noise and distortions, capacitor C1 is adopted for use. The filtered output from this capacitor is provided at the base of the transistor. Resistor R2 is the collector coupling resistor, and output is taken at the collector of the transistor which is wired with the capacitor C2. C2 drives the output load, that is the speaker.
