Rain Detector Alarm

Mostly a rain sensor or rain detector circuit is used to detect the rain in the agriculture field & generates an alarm whenever there is rain so that we can take some proper actions to conserve the water as well as crops. So conserving water as well as its proper maintenance is very important. Consequently, we can enhance the underground water levels through a recharge technique used underwater. Here we design a simple rain detector circuit by using easily available components. This circuit gives an alarm when rainwater is detected so that some actions can be taken for rainwater harvesting and also save the rainwater for use later.

Working Explanation

As we can see in the circuit, it is constructed with a single SL 100 transistor. This construction works under the principle of “transistor switch”, as when we give a voltage at the base terminal the transistor starts the conduction. And when we remove the supply from the base transistor, it goes to the cutoff condition. Here a buzzer is connected to the (NPN) transistor to get the alarm. The sensitivity range of this circuit varies with respect to the R1 resistor.

Applications

This sensor detects the rain and gives an alert concerned persons in different fields like irrigation, automobile communication, home automation, etc.
