Introduction
Many of us are familiar with ointments, etc that repel mosquitoes. But, very few know those elements can be harmful to human skin. However, an electronic mosquito repeller is comparatively adequate, especially for heated areas and humid climatic regions. It gives ultrasound waves by the speaker present in the circuit. As a result, insects get irritated by those sounds. And, this helps in repelling mosquitoes. So, in this tutorial, we are going to make a “Mosquito repellent circuit”.
Mosquitoes are a danger to any being. This tiny living can harm so many human beings. We have seen so many viruses like dengue, etc and so many diseases like malaria, etc. These tiny mosquitoes have spread this all. However, this era is the era of cure. And, we human knows how to find solutions to problems. Therefore, an electronic mosquito repeller has many advantages.

Working Explanation
The mosquitoes and small species can hear the ultrasonic noise, which is above 20KHz. So, we require setting up the ultrasonic sound. Therefore, in this Mosquito Repellent Circuit, we have used NE555 timer IC that generates a square wave at the output side. 10k potentiometer is there to adjust the oscillation frequency of the astable multivibrator. Hence when you power the circuit, it would help to repel the mosquitoes in that area.
Application and Uses
- Generally, we used to repel tiny insects such as mosquitos & flies.
- Hence, everywhere where the mosquitoes are
- With some modification, we can use it as an insect repeller
