Computer Audio Amplifier Circuit with Preamplification

A Computer audio amplifier, as its name suggests, is a circuit that helps amplify the sound system of the computer. Mostly, the sound of a computer or laptop is not loud or clear enough to enjoy playing a video/audio. Hence, here the small circuit of a computer amplifier comes in handy. Therefore, the PC audio amplifier converts a weak audio signal into a loud sound.

Working Explanation

The IC TDA7056 is a 3 Watt audio amp IC. Moreover, the total quiescent current of the IC is as low as 5mA to 7mA. But here the audio amplifier has a preamplifier. Preamplification is carried out by the transistor 2N4401. The weak audio signal from the computer goes from a stereo plug into the amplifier circuit. This signal is first passed through the transistor 2N4401 where the weak signal is amplified. Therefore, the input to the IC TDA7056 is already amplified signal which is further improved and thus, outputs a louder and much clear audio signal.

It is not restricted to just a computer or laptop, but also, it is compatible with any device such as cell phones, mp4 players, and tablets.

Applications

  • Used in amplifying audio in video conferencing.
  • Used for small applications such as cell phones and tablets.
  • In live music production
